Utah PTA is the largest parent, volunteer and child advocacy organization in the state and throughout the nation.
|
There is strength in numbers. Whether it is in the classroom, or serving on the PTA Board, parents are full partners in the decisions that affect children and families. Parents play an integral role in assisting student learning. Being able to see how your child interacts with his or her teacher and peer, getting to know school personnel, direct communication with your child's teacher and over 30 years research has proven beyond dispute the positive connection between parent involvement and student success. The PTA is a non-profit organization, which gives us tax-exempt status. To keep this status we must show that we have volunteers carrying out this mission and purposes. Documenting the number of volunteer hours is one way we do this. In addition we fund our programs through sponsors or partnerships. That is why we have our PTA fund raisers. Whether you are in a position to volunteer at home or at school; community and parent resources are used to strengthen schools, families and student learning. Your talents and skills and PTA membership is vital for us. Your PTA membership gives us more votes at the house and makes our lobbying more effective. All PTA members, whether you are actively involved or supporting the cause with membership dues, are invited to attend our monthly PTA meetings. PTA meetings will be posted in our monthly newsletter We encourage you to become a member of the Cedar Ridge PTA. |
